How do I generate a DirectX Diagnostic (DxDiag)?

The DirectX Diagnostic (DxDiag) is a feature in Windows that provides detailed information to help us fix technical issues. Use the steps below to generate a DxDiag:

  1. Click the Start button. 
  2. In the search bar, type Run and press Enter.
  3. In the pop-up window, enter dxdiag and press Enter.
  4. The DirectX Diagnostic Tool will load. If there is a pop-up window asking about digital driver signing; click the answer for your machine.
  5. Click Save all information, then Save as.
  6. Click on Save (the file should be saved to your desktop as dxdiag.txt).
  7. Exit the DirectX Diagnostic tool.
  8. Attach this file to your support ticket.
